A woman lying awake in bed in soft morning light, her arm resting above her head

The day is over, but it may not feel finished within you

Perhaps you lie down and remember everything you didn’t get to.

You go over a conversation, think ahead to tomorrow, or listen for someone who might need you.

You notice how tired you are, then wonder why sleep still feels so far away.

Or you find yourself checking the time and calculating how much sleep you could still get.

When nights have been difficult, of course we want to know how this one will go.

Looking at these experiences through a nervous system lens gives us room to understand what is happening and explore what support might fit.

What we’ll explore together

During this 90-minute call, we’ll explore:

01

Feeling tired and feeling settled.

How we can want sleep while still feeling alert or on duty.

02

Understanding our responses.

How the demands of the day and familiar experiences can become part of what we bring to bed.

03

Noticing with kindness.

Paying attention to what is here without immediately asking it to change.

04

Recognizing support.

Exploring small ways to support ourselves without turning bedtime into another task to get right.

We’ll bring this into practice with simple noticing and orienting exercises and gentle tapping, with time for reflection and questions.

You can follow along, listen quietly, or adapt the practices to what feels comfortable for you. No previous tapping experience is needed.

A tapping script to return to at bedtime

“

I’m ready for sleep, and my nervous system is still on.

We’ll tap together with words that acknowledge what is happening and gently make room for support.

You’ll receive a written copy of the script to keep and return to at bedtime. Use a few lines, follow the whole script, or change the words to match your experience.

It’s something you can explore at your own pace, without pressure to feel a particular way.

The same theme and practices will be offered at two live Zoom calls.

There is room for understanding, even while sleep feels difficult

You can be tired and still feel on duty. You can want things to be different and acknowledge what is here.

Together, we’ll make space to notice, understand our responses, and explore support that feels believable.
