Many sleep difficulties don’t begin with sleep at all.
When the nervous system stays alert, tense, or on guard — especially at night — the body can have a hard time settling, even when you’re exhausted. This can happen even if life feels “fine” on the surface.
Learning to understand what your nervous system is responding to can change how you relate to rest.
It brings clarity to experiences that often feel confusing or frustrating — and helps you make sense of why your body does what it does, particularly at night.
Why This Matters to Me — and to Sleep
For years, I’ve worked with people who are doing “all the right things” for sleep — and still lying awake at night.
This is personal for me, too.
I’ve had my own struggles with sleep, including long nights of feeling tired but unable to settle.
What I’ve seen, both professionally and personally, is this:
sleep often becomes difficult when the nervous system doesn’t yet feel safe enough to let go.
Learning how your nervous system organizes around safety, stress, and rest changes the conversation entirely.
It replaces confusion with understanding — and effort with awareness.
This way of working has reshaped my own relationship with sleep, and it’s at the heart of everything I teach.
What We’ll Explore Together
In this live session, we’ll slow things down and explore how your nervous system shows up in your body—especially around rest and sleep.
You’ll learn how to recognize a few common nervous system states and notice how they feel for you, through things like energy level, posture, breath, and the natural urge to move or rest. We’ll spend time distinguishing between the mind’s story and the nervous system’s story, so you can begin to make sense of what your body is communicating beneath thoughts or explanations.
We’ll use simple worksheets to support this exploration, giving you a way to track what you notice if that feels helpful.
No worries if nervous system work is new to you. After you register, you’ll receive a few short videos to help you get oriented and familiar with what we’ll be working with, so you can arrive feeling prepared and at ease.
Everything we do together is invitational, and you stay in choice the entire time.
